More clients are taking advantage of the simplicity and convenience of internet buying. The COVID-19 epidemic and this tendency have both contributed to the explosive rise of the e-commerce industry.

If you manage an online store or have intentions to do so, you need to give SEO some serious consideration. With the right method, you may rank on Google’s front page and receive thousands of daily visits.

Read on to find out how we assisted an online retailer to boost the number of ranking keywords by 764% and attract about 10,000 visitors each month.

Background

At the end of 2019, a specialized e-commerce business contacted us for help with their SEO. Super-absorbent hair towels are available in their online store. Shower hats, pillowcases, and headbands are all made of the same material and sold separately.

This client launched its website in 2015 and had achieved some moderate traffic growth before reaching out. The issue was that they were limited to 3,000 monthly visitors.

More web traffic means more eyes on merchandise. We knew this company intended to grow its online sales. But first, we had to improve their SEO to increase traffic to their online store.

Our team began by performing a thorough SEO assessment of their website. We do this for every client.

The SEO Audit

Before we could improve the quantity of visitors, we needed to know how their traffic, keywords, and backlinks were performing.

The audit verified that the business’s traffic was unchanged. The occasional rise might occur, but it would soon return to normal. Before they began collaborating with us, this seesaw pattern had been there for at least a year.

When they signed up with us in November 2019, website traffic was roughly 2,000 visits per month. Additionally, their website had 170 referring domains and they were only ranking for 1,650 keywords (the number of external websites linking to them)

Our SEO team understood that in order to assist this client, we would need to raise their search position through keyword optimization and link building. Selecting our “easy win” keywords came first.

“Easy Wins” – Keyword Research

What are “easy win” keywords?

A client already ranks for these keywords in positions 4–30. These keywords can be added to the client’s website and improved its score with a few minor changes. It’s a quick and simple way to start out by supporting them.

In the United States alone, we discovered that this client was ranking for approximately 6,000 “easy win” keywords. They additionally offered goods to a sizable number of customers in Australia, Canada, and the UK.

Following the discovery of each of these keywords, the next stage was to look for “easy wins” with a large search traffic. For instance, although “hair bands” was listed in position 7, there were 14,000 monthly searches for it.

“Satin vs silk” was another illustration. It was in third place and received 4,400 searches.

How can we convince a client to start using these keywords? Our writing team can use these keywords in your web copy, blogs, or other ranked content after identifying them.

Competitive Gap Analysis

We begin developing our SEO strategy at this stage of the process.

We’ll also do a competition gap analysis as part of our marketing research. The goal of this is to learn what the primary competitors of the customer are doing so that we can incorporate that information into our plan.

Keywords are used in the examination of the competitive gap. Although not every move a rival makes would be pertinent to our client, we want to make sure we aren’t passing up any opportunities.

43 online rivals of our client were revealed to us. Some of their rivals were remarkably identical to them, while the remaining ones might have had a few items in stock that were somewhat similar.

We looked at their top rival for this analysis. Although they shared about 800 keywords, the rival was ranked for an extra 3,638 different keywords.

Our client wasn’t ranking for these keywords. Our SEO team combed through this list as a consequence and discovered potential keywords for them.

The SEO Campaign

This e-commerce firm began working with us for content syndication from the very beginning. We persuaded them to join up for our managed SEO service a month later.

Our knowledgeable team handles everything, allowing business owners to concentrate on expanding their operations. Clients are given regular analytics data and can take an active or passive role as they see fit.

After consulting with the client, we agreed that it would be preferable to concentrate on creating quality content and obtaining more backlinks.

Here are the products we used for their campaign:

  • Guest Posts
  • Blogs
  • Link Building
  • Content Syndication

With the help of several SEO-optimized blogs and guest articles, we enhanced the client’s content and added a few more backlinks.

They used our content syndication solution to successfully distribute their important content to reputable news websites. Customers who use this product frequently get media attention that can be displayed as social proof on their websites.

Results

Let’s start by examining the client’s traffic. We have discussed how they never really seemed to take off. After a year of collaboration, their monthly traffic increased to over 10,000.

By carefully selecting their keywords and creating more valuable content, our team was able to significantly improve their traffic.

We boosted their number of organic keywords from 1,650 to 14,254 today, as you can see in the table below. That’s an increase of keywords of 764%!

Many of the new ranking keywords we included in their plan were among the “easy wins.” Others came about as a result of our all-encompassing SEO plan. Moreover, you can observe that their rankings in positions 1-3 increased significantly.

Increasing the number of backlinks was the final component of our plan.

The client had 170 referring domains when they began working with us, as we previously mentioned. The number of websites linking to our client exploded over the course of the following year, and as of right now, they have about 400 referring domains.

Perhaps the most efficient way to raise your SEO ranking is through backlinks.

When we noticed how many reputable websites were linking to our client, we knew this campaign was successful.

Conclusion

Each SEO campaign is unique, just like each client. In this situation, after consulting with the client, we decided that concentrating on content and link building would be the best course of action.

Fortunately, the client joined our company. To raise their ranks, we provided them with a range of SEO services.

In many cases, more than one tool is required to launch an organization’s SEO campaign.
