Background

This business is unique because its website is French Canadian and not even American or English.

Even though it’s a French website, the client was fine with us working in our native English for most of our SEO solutions.

This served as an excellent test to determine whether our method would stand up in a non-English use case, and it did.

SEO Audit

To determine what is happening with the site, we always begin with a thorough SEO analysis.

This website wasn’t penalized; it was simply getting little traffic.

They had one exact match at a ranking of 28% and another at 25%, making them slightly over optimized for their lucrative keywords.

This wasn’t a significant deal because they only had a few connections, but it was something to think about.

Keyword Research

Easy Wins – Find “Hidden Goldmines”

When conducting keyword research, we always look for easy wins – phrases for which the website is already ranking, just not at the top. We can typically obtain immediate traffic wins if we target these!

Compared to some other sites, this one had fewer easy wins, but that’s okay because it focuses on the local community. Although there is less traffic than in other sectors, there is more intent, hence conversion rates will be higher.

We identified 43 phrases with monthly search volumes ranging from 20 to 1000 with CPCs of between.20 cents and $5. We began by concentrating on a few high priority that cost $4–$5 each click.

Competitive Gap

We discovered 31 keywords that their rivals were using. These had volumes ranging from 20 to 1,600 ms with CPCs of.10 to $3.

Some of these keywords were for local locations they hadn’t previously targeted, some were well-known appliance brand names they worked with, and still others were excellent keywords for services they provide but don’t currently have pages for or weren’t optimizing for.

They were all displayed to them!

The SEO Campaign

This case study was a little different from the others in that they had already begun performing SEO on their own before enrolling in our managed SEO program.

After receiving their first purchase in March 2016, they experienced a nice uptick.

For some reason, they stopped and didn’t place an order until Aug 2016:
